good media week

This week, my media stars were magically aligned. My blog was one of the 5 featured in an article called "Blog Dogs" in Philadelphia Weekly's 2007 Taste magazine supplement.

In case you can't see the print in the photo, I was quoted as saying that I started my blog because I "was sick to death of the assumption that all vegan food tastes like lawn clippings and is difficult to prepare." Fellow Philly area veg blogger Taylor was also featured.

And an interview with me called "Being Urban Vegan" is now appearing in the online edition of Herbivore magazine. The story also features my recipe for Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake with Caramel Sauce. Authors Rory Freedman ["Skinny Bitch"] and John Robbins ["Diet for a New America"] are also interviewed online this month; I was humbled to be in such good company. Many thanks to Jess of Get Sconed for writing the piece.

Only subscribers can access the article, but Herbivore is a worthy publication to support. The print edition is elegantly bound and chock full of interesting interviews, articles on animal rights, and mouthwatering vegan recipes--and the online edition is always an inspiring read.

What...me? Self-promoting? Well.....maybe just a little.
