dropps!
Every once in awhile, I review a product that I really *love.* Meet Dropps.
Dropps are small, detergent-filled biodegradable pouches. Simply drop one into the washer [or 2 for larger or really dirty loads] and go. There's no measuring--and no waste; the packaging magically dissolves in the wash. Not that measuring laundry detergent is rocket science or terribly time consuming. But when you're super busy -- and I am -- Dropps are a welcome little luxury. And they're vegan: animal-free, cruelty-free and environmentally friendly!
But do they work? I received both scented and unscented Dropps to test. Both left my laundry squeaky clean., and the scented version infused my clothes with a very subtle fresh scent. That's fine with me. I want my clothes to smell clean, not like a synthetic perfume.
If the folks at Dropps can make and market a plastic-like substance that dissolves in the wash, I would venture to guess that mass-marketed, biodegradable plastic bags are not far off.

I hope you're right! I'm betting with your attention to these things- you are! Hope your career change goes super- you are going to be doing something you believe in, and life is too short not to...
Hm, I'd never heard of these before, but they sound awesome. I'm almost out of detergent, so I'll keep an eye out when I go shopping to restock.
These look nice. I'll keep an eye out. I want to thank you again for leading me to the envirobags. I love mine and so many people that see them want them too!
I'm so sorry I missed your birthday, so happy belated!
Wow, those look awesome. I'm usually up on the latest vegan products, but haven't heard of these.
Where did you purchase them?
Wow, those looks cool and from their site, they look pretty reasonably priced. I might go ahead and order some, thanks :)
Awesome! I love when things are not only good for the environment, but work well too!
Wow. that is awesome. I've never seen those before, but I sure would love to try them.
yah! i love dropps (and your blog!). we got a bunch of free samples at my job a while back and i've been hooked ever since.
i've never seen these! fun.
I heard about these a few years back, I still haven't seen them in stores here though.
Great for the environment, so I hope they catch on.
I LOVE IT! they remind me of wheni was a littel girl and fascinated with bath beads...now i'm adult and STILL fascinated!
they look so cute! I want to use them!
they look so cute! I want to use them!
oh my, I want!
That's interesting! I have never seen these on the shelves here before. But I do hope to see vegan ones here.
will keep an eye out for these- looks interesting!
Hey! Yes, I did write that VegNews article! It was pretty exciting to see it in print. I write for a local newspaper in Memphis, but it was different to see my stuff in a national veggie mag.
BTW, I loved the NY Times article with you and Omniman! I have an "omniman" too, and we co-exist with no problems. It's good to know that there are other veg-omni couples out there.
does the plastic package they're all packed into dissolve/biodegrade as well? that's good that the ones they're individually wrapped in do. i know seventh generation has some powdered laundry detergent that's packaged in recyclable/biodegradable cardboard and without a plastic bag, too! although there is a plastic scoop inside. sadface. but happy laundry times!
I stumbled across your blog while looking for something else and found these... so after reading about them and checking out the company's website, I had to try them! So awesome! My clothes came out so clean and not residue-y like w/ normal detergent. Thanks for the info!
